The ESH (Environmental, Safety, and Health) Senior Advisor plays a crucial role in promoting safety and compliance. Performs on-site consultations to advise senior and executive management on ways to reduce occupational ESH risk. Evaluates risks, designs and assess program goals, and provides information needed for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
+ Assess and advise on ESH programs, processes, training, resources, and work environment conditions.
+ Evaluate and propose improvement to work control and supporting documents governing fabrication, diagnostic, maintenance, repair, and R&D work.
+ Conduct observations of work and workplace conditions. Identify workplace conditions that reflect or can contribute to degraded workplace safety and make recommendations for mitigation / resolution of those conditions.
+ Meet and advise Senior Management, ES&H Director, Division Safety Officers, and Safety Wardens in the course of evaluating workplace conditions to develop and recommend sustainable solutions.
+ Conduct an ESH gap analysis in the programs and processes to identify ways to optimize workplace conditions.
+ Develop and effectively communicate plans across all levels of the organization up to and including executive leadership.
+ Collaborating with the on-site ESH Manager in day-to-day Environmental, Safety, and Health functions, programs, and procedures.
+ Providing advice on ESH issues and improving the site’s ESH systems and processes.
+ Conducting risk assessments for ESH hazards and participating in safety improvement initiatives.
+ Ensuring compliance with DOE, OSHA, State, legal and global standards.
+ Submitting reports to relevant authorities as needed.
+ Develop and conduct training for employees on Environmental, Safety, and Health site requirements.
Qualifications
+ A relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or College Degree in Engineering, Science, Health, Industrial, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Management, or Chemical Engineering).
+ 15 years of position-related experience. 5 years of DOE Order 5480.1B ESH experience required.

+ Demonstrate in-depth comprehensive ESH related knowledge and skill. Demonstrate, anticipate, and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
+ Possess the knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
+ Strong attention to detail, good proofreading skills, excellent reliability, initiative and stress tolerance.
+ Establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with customers at all levels. Follow instructions in verbal and written format.
Demonstrate good judgment and foresight, moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people.
+ Perform with a professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
+ Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
+ Have and maintain a clean driving record.
