Job Description

 

 

Reports to: NACSP Administrator/Director Pay Range:  based upon qualifications

 

Position Summary (Primary functions and objectives of the job)

 

The Child Support Specialist (CSS) shall work a minimum of 325 cases, providing all services, except for collection and distribution, including locate, cooperation and stipulations, modifications, preparing for Court action, and enforcement. Case Specialist is also responsible for identifying other services that will assist a family, child or parent in meeting their support obligations and making appropriate referrals for services. The Child Support Specialist objective is to ensure each element of a case is properly worked according to NACSP's policies and procedures. Additional duties may be given when necessary.

Pre-employment drug screening.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance, describe the work actually performed stressing the purpose of the work and the objectives to be accomplished.)

 

  1.  (60% of time) Locate Clients and Assets. 

 

Objectives: Contact numerous sources for income verification collect data for cases requiring legal action or location of custodial and non-custodial parents. CSS shall verify the addresses and employment of clients and their assets.

  1. (25 % of the time) Gather and Document Information

Objectives: Gather Information from various resources and evidence that supports a support calculation and/or recommendation. CSS will also gather information and evidence that supports a Child Support enforcement, recommendation or action.

  1. (10% of the time) Child Support Calculations and Recommendations 

Objectives: CSS will calculate child support payments based on all income and assets using the NACPS Percentage standard Guidelines.

  1. (5% of time) Enforce Recommendations and Actions

Objectives; CSS will follow all procedures set forth by court documents and orders, also follow NACSP Guidelines for enforcement actions.

Background

 

Education: Preferred: 2 to 4 years of higher education

Minimum: High School diploma or its equivalent

Experience: Preferred: 4 of related experience

Minimum: 12 months of related experience.

National Training.

Policies and Procedures: The personnel manual of the Northern Arapaho Tribe will govern Northern

Arapaho Child Support Program. All employees are expected to be familiar with and abide

By these directives. All employees will also abide by the Northern Arapaho Tribe Purchasing and

Employee Travel directives.

Additionally, the position requires the employee to become and expert in the NACSP Policy and Procedures, in order to ensure Program staff complies with these objectives & responsibilities.

NACSP in the NACSP New Worker Training.
