Prevention, education, early intervention, treatment, and ongoing support services, with abstinence as the primary The Substance Use Disorder Professional enhances the quality of life of the Tribe and its members through the culturally appropriate delivery of goal. They serve as an Integrated Clinical Care Team member and deliver patient-centered care.
Duties Include:
Clinical Counseling:
Provides chemical dependency treatment services and ongoing case management of both adult and youth patients, from admission to discharge from the program. Includes, but not limited to, conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, leading group counseling sessions, involving patients in developing and implementing individualized treatment and aftercare plans, family counseling and support, orienting new patients into the program, assessing referred patients, and other duties as assigned.
Case Management:
Regularly assesses and monitors patients’ progress and maintains concise files and records through daily reviews and updates.
Reports patient activities to the Program Coordinator to ensure the department’s overall goals and patient needs are met through a coordinated departmental effort.
Maintains patient referral lists and patient logs for effective case management.
Maintains and ensures that all files meet Tribal and WAC codes.
Staff patient’s progress with Behavioral Health Program staff and consultants to ensure optimum patient service delivery while honoring individual patient confidentiality.
Participate in quarterly program quality assurance reviews.
Willingness to maintain regular contact with inpatient patients and assist them with a seamless transition to the aftercare program.
Meetings:
Attends and participates in various community/staff meetings and staff committees whose goals directly or indirectly relate to the Behavioral Health Program’s objectives.
Personal/Professional Contact:
Maintains regular positive and professional contact with patients, patients’ families, staff, community members, and others to accomplish program objectives and preserve good public relations.
Prevention Planning/Coordination:
Assists in the planning, developing, and coordinating community alcohol and drug education and prevention efforts.
Reporting:
Assists the Lead SUDP, BH Program Manager in preparing and distributing numerous reports, including TARGET, quarterly program progress reports, Tribal Court reports, letters, assessments, and patient compliance/non-compliance progress reports.
Remote Work:
This position is eligible for situational remote work as needed. The schedule must be discussed with and approved by supervisor and director and may be subject to change depending on role and department need.
Other Duties as Assigned.
Education and Certifications:
Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) License. Similar licenses/certifications from other states and affiliated entities such as (NAADAC) will be considered, provided the applicant will obtain a valid Washington State credential.
AA degree in Addiction Studies/Substance Use Disorder and a minimum of 90 quarter hours specialized in alcohol/drug related courses AND a minimum of 24 months supervised work, and have been previously grandfathered in to obtain state licensing.
WA State Driver’s License
Completion of First Aid/CPR certification upon hire.
Experience:
Desired 2-5 years experience working in outpatient or residential treatment settings and knowledge of standard field practices, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Requires a lifestyle free from the problems of alcohol and other drugs and the ability to be a positive role model.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to finger, handle, reach with hands and arms
Frequently required to walk, sit, stand.
Normal audio and visual acuity
Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
Will work with bodily fluids and/or blood-borne pathogens and will require applicable training.
Travel Requirements:
Local, Statewide, and out-of-state travel may be required.

The hours for this position will be 11:00am – 7:30pm.
