
Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe
Coordinates and teaches for the K-3 Places Program. This program is an outdoors and tribal culturally focused program serving K-3 tribal and community member students as a supplement to in-school curriculum. The Lead Teacher will help the tribe build and expand the program under the guidance of the Outdoors Education Coordinator and the Director of the PGST Department of Education, based on the groundwork undergone in the 2022-25 grant-funded program. This job requires a minimum of 4 teaching days per week for K-1 or 2-3 students. The curriculum will be primarily outdoors focused (cultural calendar permitting and weather and subject permitting), and S’Klallam culture and language based. An ideal candidate will have outdoor teaching experience, management experience, grant managing experience, strong writing skills, and connection to the cultural arts, history, sciences and people of the S’Klallam tribe. Finally, this person will be responsible for building and documenting program standards, curriculum.
